Urbane Protective Gear (UPG) was birthed during the time of the 2020 Pandemic by two Black women, Stephanie Flowers & Melba Thomas. Both devastated from the news and spread of Covid-19. As we all were and are advised to wear masks, with their fashion background they said, “if we must wear masks lets come up with something that’s Chic while allowing those that wear them to be safe & protected.” While the masses begun to sew masks, in order to set themselves apart. They came up with what is now known as UPG. UPG is only sold as a set. It protects the three areas the CDC has said the virus can enter the body…..the eyes…the nose and the mouth.
